Safe & Balanced Practices + Special Populations

Join Holly Bray for a weekend of Safe Practices and Special Populations. This 15-hour immersion is open to teachers and bodyworkers looking to deepen their knowledge of common Yoga related injuries and how to utilize safe teaching practices to avoid them. By approaching the study of anatomy and posture through the lens that nearly 80% of all neuromuscular pain is caused by a muscle imbalance, we can develop Yoga practices with the intention to build a more balanced structure and in doing so greatly reduce the risk of injury and pain. This course includes 15 Yoga Alliance CE hours and covers the following topics:

  • Overview of the most common yoga related injuries

  • Vinyasa alternatives & modifications

  • Impacts of repetitive strain

  • Necessity of a balanced practice

  • Identify postural distortions, shifts and tilts

  • Learn to recognize muscle imbalances

  • Practice specific postures to correct imbalances

  • Learn to approach teaching in a safe and intentional way
