Sensing & the Subtle Body

  • 405 Northwest 30th Street Oklahoma City, OK, 73118 United States (map)

30-Hours | Led by Holly Bray

In this 30-hour immersion, we will explore the subtle body through the doorway of embodied awareness. Using the five senses as our guide, we will investigate the relationship between sensation, perception, consciousness, and energy. Drawing from Tantric philosophy, along with yogic and contemporary understandings of embodiment, we'll learn how awareness refines our capacity to sense what lies beneath habitual patterns of posture, breath and thought.

Together we'll explore the five great elements (Pancha Mahabhutas) and their relationship to the senses, discovering how the physical world serves as a bridge into subtler dimensions of experience. From this foundation, we'll trace the historical roots of the chakra system within the Tantric tradition and examine how these teachings evolved as maps of human consciousness and transformation.

Rather than approaching the chakras as concepts to memorize, we will engage them as lived experiences. Through movement, breath, meditation, mantra, visualization, and sensory inquiry, we'll explore how each chakra expresses itself through the body, the mind, and our lived experience. Along the way, we'll investigate how habitual patterns, protective tension, and embodied samskaras influence our perception and shape the way energy moves through us.

This training invites you to rediscover yoga as a practice of sensing, listening, and direct experience. Through the cultivation of awareness, the subtle body shifts from an idea we study to a reality we can begin to perceive.
